To the Heart of Difficult Conversations
A collaboration between Berwick Literary Festical and Berwick Academy on the nature of difficult conversations.
A collection of wonderful stories and writings from pupils on difficult conversations – all inspired by a piece of Berwick history and a king full of ambition.
“These difficult conversations shape our lives, and this is a celebration of those difficult conversations that are worth having”
In a collaboration with Berwick Literary Festival, Create Berwick and students at Berwick Academy, this book presents a collection of poems, drama scripts and mini sagas from pupils on the nature of difficult conversations.
The project was inspired by a plaque in Tweedmouth, Berwick-Upon-Tweed, that talks of two meetings involving kings and nobles from England and Scotland in the late 1200s.
Inside the book, you’ll find a history of the plaque along with the best contributions on difficult conversations from the students, plus a couple of folktales.
Together, they offer a piece of local history combined with a fascinating glimpse into the lives and imaginations of young people today.
